London

The UK capital has two main markets, both of which were first visited in 2014

London Southbank

Well they tried. maybe a dozen stalls, mostly of the food and drink variety was a bit dismal on my visit despite their berst attempts to give it some atmosphere. Clearly no mug to be had and the gluhwein was a bit dismal.

London Hyde Park

My feeling is that they've tried to do too much, fun fair rides and even a circus occupy most of the site< wide boulevards and very visible security remove a lot of any potential atmosphere.that said they've had a good go with genuine German and european stalls rubbing shoulders with more local purveyors. i'm guessing they are hoping for big crowds so the high prices for food and drink - basic gluhwein was as much as £5 for a paper cup - i'm sure they could've run to a mug for the watered down gluhwein.
